GOOD OLE’ DAYS to a HUMBLE BEGINING
Jimmy started working in his Grandfather’s garage at the age of 6. His Grandfather had a spark plug cleaning machine and he would give him a Coca-Cola as a reward for helping with it. Raised in that combination junkyard garage setting inspired his future. When Jimmy was 15 he started building T Birds for the Dean in High School. He put on a few car shows and one of them won a national event! At that point, it got so busy doing restorations on T birds that he found a need to open his own shop. There were cars sitting all around his property about the time that code enforcement was coming out. Officials started writing frequent citations due to new customers bringing their T-Birds and on semi-trailers daily. The main focus of the business was T-Birds until he purchased a pipe bender and a lift. Jimmy soon began doing exhaust work and custom exhaust which phased on into doing full mechanical work. Within the first year, the T birds were his guaranteed but the auto mechanic business picked up. By then he was now a full-service 76 gas station, restoration, and repair shop. Having that umbrella helped drive Beals business and the 76 gas station brand name remained in place until 1998. This was back in the day when they pumped the gas and did the basic 27-point check! To keep up with demand and in the continuance of family tradition, B&B Auto Services was born in 1980 and later this year we celebrate 38 years!
JIMMY BEAL started B&B AUTO SERVICES on October 28, 1980. He has been repairing used automobiles in the Pensacola area for over 37 years. Jimmy said, “first day I opened with 56 dollars after paying everything to make it or break it.” It has been over 37 years and we are still keeping Pensacola, Florida, moving!
